Lincoln-Bartlett family papers, 1857-1956

Papers of the interrelated Lincoln and Bartlett families of Boston and Hingham, Mass. consist of correspondence, writings, genealogical material, scrapbooks, newspaper clippings, expense books, and diaries. Family correspondence includes copies of letters written by Arthur Bartlett, 1942-45, while serving in France during World War II. Also included are diaries kept by Harvard University student Arthur Lincoln, 1857-60, describing church attendance, studying, engagements attended, trips to Boston, and daily activities; and travel diaries kept sporadically by Boston lawyer Solomon Lincoln from 1872-1898 (with significant gaps) while on trips to Europe describe cultural sites and museums visited and daily activities. Genealogical materials include the Lincoln, Bartlett, and Thayer families.
